How to Bulk-Import Your Car's Maintenance History (CSV or Excel)
5 min read
Retyping years of maintenance history one entry at a time is the kind of task that makes people give up halfway. Here's how to bring it all over in one file instead.
Who this is for
If your maintenance history already exists somewhere — a spreadsheet you've kept for years, a paper logbook you want to digitize, an export from another app — retyping every entry by hand is the kind of tedious that makes people give up halfway through. Batch import exists for exactly that: one file in, your full history created in one pass.
How it works
From a vehicle's screen, open Import, then download the template in CSV or Excel — whichever you're more comfortable editing. The template already has the right column headers, in your language, with an example row.
Fill in one row per service: date, mileage, type, price, and a note. Both English and French headers are recognized, so a template downloaded in either language works regardless of the app's current language. Upload the file back and every valid row becomes a maintenance entry — invalid rows are reported by line number instead of failing the whole import.
Extra detail for oil changes and tires
Two service types get their own optional columns. For an oil change: which filters were changed (oil, air, cabin, fuel), the oil viscosity, and the quantity. For tires: the type (summer, winter, all-season), size, and brand. Leave any of these blank if you don't have the detail — only the core fields are required.
If something's wrong in a row
A row with an unrecognized service type, an invalid date, or a missing price doesn't block the rest of the file — it's skipped and reported with the exact row number and reason, so you can fix just that line and re-import it if you want it kept.
